Visitors to the High Tatras can use a new car parking lot under Tatranská Lomnica with a shuttle bus service.
From 17 July 2023, a new large free parking lot for motor vehicles with a capacity of 450 cars will be available for visitors of the High Tatras in the area of the former Eurocamp under Tatranská Lomnica. The Prešov Self-governing Region in cooperation with the carrier SAD Poprad will also provide a shuttle bus service from this car park to Tatranská Lomnica and to the Biela voda until the end of the summer season. The aim is to relieve the region of High Tatras from car traffic, especially around Kežmarská Biela Voda, where roadside parking is now forbidden. At the same time, extensive repairs with traffic restrictions are being carried out on the main road in High Tatras this year.
The basic fare in shuttle bus for the whole route is € 1.50 in cash and reduced fare € 0.80. The shuttle bus will serve following stops in both directions:
- Tatranská Lomnica, P+R (stop directly at the parking lot)
- Tatranská Lomnica, Eurocamp
- Tatranská Lomnica, Tatranec
- Tatranská Lomnica, 1. máj
- Tatranská Lomnica, stanica (possible transfer to tram to Starý Smokovec and bus routes to Štrbské Pleso, Tatranská Kotlina, Ždiar and Lysá Poľana)
- Tatranské Matliare
- Biela voda (starting point for hikes to Zelené pleso, Biele pleso, Jahňací štít or Kopské sedlo)
The shuttle bus will run at intervals of 20 or 40 minutes as follows (schedule):
- from the Tatranská Lomnica P+R stop in the direction of Biela voda
- every 20 minutes from 7:20 to 9:40 and from 14:20 to 16:40
- every 40 minutes from 9:40 to 14:20 and from 16:40 to 19:20
- from the stop Biela voda in the direction Tatranská Lomnica P+R
- every 20 minutes from 7:40 to 10:00 and from 15:20 to 17:00
- every 40 minutes from 10:00 to 15:20 and from 17:00 to 19:40
