Travelling by train between Bratislava and Vienna is temporarily possible only from Bratislava-Petržalka station. You can use a valid international train ticket on public transport routes 93 and N93.
Due to the complex reconstruction and electrification of the railway track between Devínska Nová Ves and Marchegg, the operation of the international REX trains between Bratislava and Marchegg is interrupted for a long period of time from 4 March 2024. Trains of route R20 will not run during the closure.
No alternative service is provided between Devínska Nová Ves and Marchegg during the closure. The fastest connection will be by bicycle via the bridge over Morava river (approx. 7 km).
There is only a minimal replacement bus service between Bratislava-Main Railway Station and Marchegg (5 pairs on weekdays, 4 pairs on free days) with a journey time of 40 minutes. The capacity of the replacement bus service will be limited and it is therefore recommended to use it only for travel to/from Marchegg and the surrounding area.
Replacement bus departures:
- from the Bratislava-Main station (bus stop Hlavná stanica, platform H) towards Marchegg: 6:15, 8:15, 14:15*, 16:15, 18:15
- from Marchegg towards Bratislava main station: 7:05, 9:05, 15:05*, 17:05, 19:05

For travelling between Bratislava and Vienna it is possible to use trains of ÖBB route REX 6 running from/to Bratislava-Petržalka station via Kittsee during the closure. In Bratislava it is possible to travel both ways between the Main Railway Station and Bratislava-Petržalka station by public transport routes 93 and N93, while passengers on the buses of these routes will only need a valid international train ticket (to/from Austria).
