Night routes will operate in more frequent intervals.
New Year's Eve (31st December 2019)
Changes at a glance
- Day routes will operate normally, based on timetables for school holidays – service will not be shortened on any day routes.
- Tram routes 1 4 will be redirected after about 20:00 – Jesenského st., Mostová st. and Vajanského nábrežie st. will be closed. More information can be found below.
- Routes 29 50 70 N33 will be redirected from about 22:00 until about 02:00 the next day – Vajanského nábrežie st. will be closed. More information can be found below.
- Night routes will operate in more frequent intervals – every 15 to 30 minutes. This does not apply to routes N56 N91 N99, which will operate normally. Exact departure times of other night routes can be found in the Schedules section in the column 31/12 – 01/01.
- Apart from standard night routes, tram routes 3 4 9 will be in service – every 15 minutes until 03:00 and every 30 minutes afterwards:
- Routes 3 9 will serve all of their regular stops
- Route 4 will operate between Kútiky and ŽST Nové Mesto:
- Until about 02:00, it will be redirected from its regular route via Kapucínska and Námestie SNP
- For Zlaté Piesky terminus, we recommend using route N53
- Night route N33 will divert via Einsteinova st. until about 02:00 on New Year's Day. More information can be found below.
- All of these changes will be implemented into all vehicles' OIS (optical information systems) and will show up on departure boards on all affected stops as well as on iMHD.sk web servers.
Jesenského st. and Mostová st. closure (about 20:00 – 02:00)
After approximately 20:00, Jesenského st. and Mostová st. will have to be closed in both directions due to New Year's Eve ceremonies. Routes 1 4 will be diverted as follows:
- Route 1 will not serve SND, Námestie Ľ. Štúra and Šafárikovo námestie stops in both directions. Instead of turning right towards Obchodná st., it will turn left and serve Blumentál, Americké námestie and Mariánska stops. From Námestie SNP, it will continue on its regular route, serving Poštová, Martinus, Vysoká, Tchibo Outlet and STU stops at least in one direction. We recommend getting off at Námestie SNP to reach either of the three disused stops.
- Route 4 will not serve SND, Šafárikovo námestie, Námestie Ľ. Štúra, Most SNP and Chatam Sófer stops. Instead, it will divert via Námestie SNP and Kapucínska stops. We recommend getting off at Námestie SNP to reach either of the disused stops, apart from Chatam Sófer, which can be walked to more easily from Kráľovské údolie stop.
All of these changes will be implemented into all trams' OIS (optical information systems) and will show up on departure boards on all affected stops as well as on iMHD.sk web servers. Do not hesitate to use the Journey Planner or Maps to further plan your journey. Services should return to their regular routes after approximately 02:00.
Vajanského nábrežie st. closure (about 22:00 – 02:00)
After approximately 22:00, Vajanského nábrežie st. will have to be closed due to New Year's fireworks. Routes 29 50 70 N33 will operate as follows:
- Route 29 will terminate at Most SNP terminus;
- It will not serve Námestie Ľ. Štúra, Malá scéna and Nové SND stops
- At Most SNP, it will start on the platform for routes 30 37 when going towards Opletalova, VW5
- Route 50 will divert via the Apollo bridge between Aupark and Twin City stops;
- It will not serve Most SNP, Námestie Ľ. Štúra and Malá scéna stops
- Instead, it will serve Most Apollo, Prístavná and Panorama City stops
- Route 70 will terminate at Nové SND terminus;
- It will not serve Námestie Ľ. Štúra and Most SNP stops in neither direction
- It will start on its regular platform of Malá scéna stop when going towards ŽST Podunajské Biskupice
- Night route N33 will divert via Petržalka between Twin City and Most SNP stops;
- It will not serve Malá scéna and Námestie Ľ. Štúra stops in neither direction
- At Most SNP, it will serve the platform for routes 30 37 when going towards Dlhé diely, Kuklovská and the terminating platform for route 30 when going towards Hlavná stanica (the main railway station)
- It will not serve any additional stops

New Year's Day (1st January 2020)
All services will operate normally, based on timetables for free days, apart from a few small changes:
- Route 801 will start its service at 6:46 from ŽST Rusovce and at 6:55 from Rajka, Benzínkút
- Route 69 will not operate
